Poiana Brasov is the most popular ski resort in Romania. Known as a cheap, good value destination for beginners. The well-known winter sport centre Poiana Brasov is situated 170 km away from Bucharest and is one of the most frequented resorts in Romania, mostly because of its modern sports infrastructure, including artificial skating rink, sport fields, riding centres and a Gondola lift with a capacity of 2000 skiers per hour. There is an Olympic ski-track, two 80 metres high ski-jumps, and 12 downhill and slalom runs. One of the advantages of the resort is the artificial snow providing insulation which enables the most passionate skiers to practice their favourite sport from autumn until spring. Another attraction you will find here is the opportunity to ride in a horse-drawn sleigh.
